Well… If you are a veteran of the United States Military and you did not already have your hackles up over the way the Biden Administration is dealing with “military issues” this one will surely grind your gears.
Memorial Day– a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered, traditionally observed on May 30 but now officially observed on the last Monday in May.
Over the past 30 years Memorial Day was remembered by vets from across the country who rode their “bikes” down Constitution Ave in DC to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation and to remember those who still remain unaccounted for, Missing In Action, on the battlefield — It was called Rolling Thunder — and if you have seen it — you will never forget it!
For business reasons Rolling Thunder ran its course and has been replaced by the charitable event now called Rolling To Remember … and according to the Patriot Daily Press:
“The Biden administration denied event permits for the Rolling to Remember motorcycle ride held every year for the past 30 years in Washington, D.C., prompting outrage in Congress.”
The event was jeopardized at the last moment after the Pentagon declined to issue a permit allowing the group to gather in its parking lot, citing restrictions associated with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Biden administration officials “refused to talk with event organizers” and “refused to respond to Congress about this topic,” according to Rep. Darrel Issa (R., Calif.), who was one of several members to petition the Pentagon in April to approve the event.
The Pentagon approved the permit in March and then rescinded the decision this week without any explanation, according to Issa and Rep. Ken Calvert (R., Calif.), who also criticized the Biden administration’s decision.
Can it be that this has nothing to do with COVID at all? Since the CDC’s new guideline would appear to support such a gathering in the Pentagon’s North Parking Lot. Outside … No Mask required if vexed … socially distanced — can’t get to close to strangers when riding a Harley … so just what is the problem?
It is possible that these bikers are supporters of Trump — they will fly their Trump flags and wear their MAGA gear … and that is what terrifies the most lethal military on the planet — a bunch of “good old boys and girls” on motorcycles flying the flag of a past President of the United States?
Well as flags go … I’m throwing the BS Flag.
The Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have refused to standup in the face of a Vietnam War Daft Dodger like Biden and honor the men and woman who have given their lives in defense of this country. For that they are not qualified to hold the high office that they occupy … both have served, and both have lost their way.
Now … Could this be the flag that has the mightiest military in the world so worried …
