Present-day, the US armed forces is the most expensive and most powerful fighting force in the world. With a FY2021 defense budget of over $730 billion, the U.S. spends more than triple on defense than the next biggest spender (China at around $240 billion). The US also has the only true blue-water navy, with its various carrier strike groups currently positioned all around the world, from the home waters in Norfolk to the waterways of South Korea and Japan.

On paper, it seems the US military is unmatched in terms of numbers and inventory, but that is a far cry from truth because there is a factor yet to be accounted for: our leadership. We’ve all heard of the proverbial saying, “I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.” Soldiers are only as competent as the ones leading them, and that is not a promising statement for America as we have kowtowing “yes” men like Mark Milley calling the shots.

A believer in Critical Race Theory (CRT) and “white rage”, General Milley is more fitting as a political pundit stroking the keyboard on his blogsite than presiding over the Joint Chiefs of Staff. We are also led to question the allegiance of Milley, as the recent election debacle between Donald Trump and Joe Biden revealed Milley’s supposed secret communications with the Chinese military.

Peril' co-author Robert Costa details Trump's effort to overturn the election : NPR

In the book Peril by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, Milley exchanged secret phone calls with his PLA counterpart (General Li Zuocheng) on October 30, 2020, four days before the 2020 presidential election, and on January 8, 2021, two days after the January 6th Capitol Protest. In the October 30 phone call, Milley alleviated supposed Chinese concerns of a US attack. “General Li, I want to assure you that the American government is stable and everything is going to be okay”, Milley told Li. “We are not going to conduct any kinetic operations against you”. In the January 8 phone call, Milley further back-massaged Li by assuring him that any US attacks would be preemptively alerted to the Chinese military. “General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise”. As if blatant betrayal wasn’t enough to spit all over America, on the same day, CNN published an article claiming that Nancy Pelosi had gotten assurances from Milley that there were safeguards in place to counter a renegade Trump from launching nuclear weapons.

If we are to believe the contents of Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s Peril, the actual national security of the United States is at serious risk as we have a backstabbing Chinese sympathizer acting as our military’s chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. No matter how advanced our weapons are, how numerous our troops are, how expensive our equipment is, the military stands no chance as a fighting force if even its own leaders don’t want to fight for them.

The military, since time immemorial, has been a symbol of power for its respective state. It acts as a representation of that state’s fighting spirit and prowess, and in modern times has acted as a tool for deterring potential adversarial aggression. In the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), US and Korean troops with the most imposing physical appearance are selected to stand guard at the Joint Security Area (JSA). North Korea, in response, is also doing the same thing. With that in mind, what would rival countries think when the leaders of our uniformed services look like this:

Dr. Rachel Levine makes history as the nation's first openly transgender four-star admiral | WBTW

Not so strong and imposing anymore now, are we?

Conversely, just for fun, let’s look at George S. Patton, a highly decorated general during World War II.

The Death of a General: George S. Patton, Jr. | The National WWII Museum | New Orleans

What do you think? Personally for me, his stern look exudes an aura of American patriotism and power. Donning his iconic Jodhpurs, he is a patriot wholly representative of America’s military might.

Now let’s go back to the present and take one more look at this abomination:

Former Pa. Dept. of Health Secretary Rachel Levine now first openly transgender four-star officer

Again, not a good look for America. I’m sure Russia is shaking in fear right now over our tough and powerful leaders.

So what’s going on?

The uniformed services have turned into a playdoll for the woke administration to decorate and pretty up with their woke agenda, turning our military from a display of fighting prowess to a circus show. The military is not a platform for spreading political and social niceties, it should be excluded from prevailing popular social narratives like LGBTQ and BLM. The Critical Race Theory should have nothing to do with the offense and defense of our nation, nor should leadership positions be purposefully handed out to “oppressed” and “downtrodden” individuals like transgenders. Of course there is the possibility that Rachel Levine might’ve been appointed a four-star admiral for his/her accolades, but as things now stand the military is a far cry from what it once was. People join the military to defend their country (or perhaps because they had nowhere else to go after high school), not to sing cadences irrelevant to the military nor to become puppets of the woke agenda. Let’s leave that to the media, social media, and the many representative organizations, and leave the military out of it.
