In the days following the Capital Hill riot on Jan 6th it seem that at least four law enforcement officers who were on duty that day have been reported as committing suicide. One of these officers was a member of the US Capital Police and three were DC Metro Officers assigned to the Hill that day.

Let me be absolutely clear — the taking of one’s own life is a serious matter and is not condoned or mocked in any way by what I am about to say.

As reported in the Daily Mail:

“U.S. Capitol Police officer Howard Liebengood killed himself three days after the riot and DC Police Officer Jeffrey Smith shot himself on January 15, and DC Metropolitan Officer Gunther Hashida, 43, killed himself on July 29.”

Fox 5 in Virginia reports that:

Capitol police officer Kyle DeFreytag dead of suicide

“Kyle DeFreytag a DC Police Officer died on July 10; his mother confirms. She also says he responded to the Jan. 6 insurrection during the later shift and was outside the Capitol.”

The loss of these four officers is tragic for their families, their associates and their friends… of that there can be little doubt — but the issue here is trying to tie their actions to the events of January 6th.

It is hard to imagine that the events that took place that morning are the leading cause for four highly trained officers to suddenly lose all hope in living after being confronted with the actions that day. After all — the only person to be shot that day was an unarmed veteran who was shot by a yet to be officially identified Capital Hill plain cloths officer — executed by her own government without due process.

We have all seen the video — unarmed, climbing through a window, with no apparent warning from the shooter — Stop or I will shoot! — but none of the four officers who took their own life shot an unarmed civilian that day. In fact we don’t have any information beyond what Nancy Pelosi and her Kangaroo Commission want us to believe along with the media narrative, provided by Pelosi that somehow this is all connected.

The truly sad story here is the Socialist Democrats politicizing these deaths in an effort to reinforce their theme of domestic terrorism and an insurrection to overthrow the government. I don’t think anyone knows what the real reasons are that these four officers chose to take their own life; but there are some things that we can examine that might help us understand suicide better.

The Mayo Clinic website offers the following as the causes for suicide:

“Suicidal thoughts have many causes. Most often, suicidal thoughts are the result of feeling like you can’t cope when you’re faced with what seems to be an overwhelming life situation. If you don’t have hope for the future, you may mistakenly think suicide is a solution. You may experience a sort of tunnel vision, where in the middle of a crisis you believe suicide is the only way out.”

They go on to tell us about the risk factors for identifying a potential suicide:

“Attempted suicide before
Feel hopeless, worthless, agitated, socially isolated or lonely. Experience a stressful life event, such as the loss of a loved one, military service, a breakup, or financial or legal problems. Have a substance abuse problem — alcohol and drug abuse can worsen thoughts of suicide and make you feel reckless or impulsive enough to act on your thoughts. Have suicidal thoughts and have access to firearms in your home. Have an underlying psychiatric disorder, such as major depression, post-traumatic stress disorder or bipolar disorder. Have a family history of mental disorders, substance abuse, suicide, or violence, including physical or sexual abuse. Have a medical condition that can be linked to depression and suicidal thinking, such as chronic disease, chronic pain or terminal illness. Are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender with an unsupportive family or in a hostile environment.”

Given what the medical profession thinks are the associated causes and risks of suicide … I believe that it can be a logical conclusion that these four officers could have been suicidal for some time before January 6th. Without prying into the personal details of each of their lives the public will most likely never know the true cause for their actions.

Unlike Officer Sicknick, the Capital Hill Officer who passed from a stroke days after the riot as reported by the medical examiner — The same Officer Sicknick who Congressmen Jamie Raskin, the supposed Constitution scholar, who stood in the Well of the Senate and told the entire country that Officer Sicknick was killed by rioters after being hit in the head with fire extinguisher.

It was lie and he knew it was a lie at the time he said it — and he looked right into to the camera and lied to the entire Nation. The same Jamie Raskin who now sits on Pelosi’s Kangaroo Commission. Raskin lied to us then and there is no logical reason to expect that he is not lying to us now.

The facts are clear. We do not know how or why these four officers decided that it was time to end their time on earth and our condolences are offered to their families. I do however have serios doubts that after extended periods serving as law enforcement officers that the worst they ever experienced was the events of January 6th. Suicide is cruel for the people who are left behind and we cannot lose sight of that.

However, we must also not let Pelosi and her faux commission politicize these deaths and use them to tug at the emotional heartstrings of the Nation. Let the families grieve in peace and stop making what is a bad situation worse by tying these officers to that day.

What the country truly needs is Nancy Pelosi, UNDER OATH explaining her role, decisions and orders regarding the security arrangements on January 6th and why the Capital was not prepared! Now that would be progress to understanding that day in its complete context.
