Fifteen people were shot, two of them fatally, Monday through Tuesday in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
NBC Chicago reports that seven people were shot and wounded on Monday and FOX 32 / Chicago Sun-Times notes that eight people were shot Tuesday.
Two of Tuesday’s shooting victims succumbed to their wounds. Both deaths occurred shortly after 7 a.m. in a residence “in the 4900 block of South Marshfield Avenue.” Police were called to the residence and arrived to find three people had been shot, and two of them were dead at the scene.
Monday and Tuesday’s violence follows a weekend during which 21 people were shot in Lightfoot’s Chicago, five of them fatally.
The Sun-Times points out that 81 people have been murdered in Chicago thus far in 2022.

Chicago continues to have some of the strictest gun laws in the entirety of the United States. In Illinois, dominated by Democrat control, you cannot purchase a firearm without a government permit.
To legally possess firearms or ammunition, Illinois residents must have a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, which is issued by the Illinois State Police to any qualified applicant. Non-residents who may legally possess firearms in their home state are exempt from this requirement.
How can gun crime continue to surge, with FIFTEEN shootings over a two day period, when the police control exactly who has access to all firearms?
The answer is simple. Gun control DOES NOT WORK. Gun control simply restricts average citizens from being able to handle, carry, and defend themselves with firearms.
The people of Chicago have been legislated into a perpetual state of unarmed helplessness, and are now seeing the results of this sheepish way of living. Utter disaster.
As murders continue to pile up, national media is almost silent on the issue. Why is that a diseases with a survival rate North of 99% gets all the media attention while people are being murdered on a daily basis?
Our cities have become uninhabitable war zones. These direct conditions have been implemented, universally, by members of the Democrat party.
Weak RINO Republicans ship off our jobs, while the Democrats create a state of chaos in American cities, leaving them desolate and depressed.
We can no longer allow the destruction of our Nation. It is time to take our country back. That means legally leveling the political institutions that disarm our citizens, only serving to benefit the criminals who assault our lives.
