- Larry Hogan, current Governor of Maryland, was re-elected Governor in 2018. Running against Democrat Ben Jealous, Hogan secured a narrow victory. He had monumental assistance from the Republican party, as the Republican State Central Committee of Maryland gave Hogan a total of $1.129 Million.
These donations gave Hogan a large boost. His 2018 campaign was able to raise a total of over $20 Million.
Fast forward to 2022, and the exact same Republican State Central Committee of Maryland has raised exactly $0 for Gubernatorial Nominee Dan Cox.
One must ask the question, why? Why would the party refuse to support their own nominee?
Things become even more concerning when examining the total donations raised by the Cox Campaign. Upon investigation of the campaign finance data, Cox has reported a total of only $833,176 in donations for this cycle.
That would mean that the Republican State Central Committee raised more money for Larry Hogan in one period than Dan Cox has raised in total.
What happened to the Republican State Central Committee? Have they ceased receiving donations?
Maryland Campaign Finance Data shows that the Republican State Central Committee has taken in $1,184,707 in donations in this election cycle alone.
Where is that money being spent?
I began to investigate the donors to the Republican State Central Committee of Maryland for this cycle based on the size of the donation they gave. I began to see some of the same people revealed in previous investigations.
Dirk Haire, MDGOP Chair, gave $22,000 in total in this election cycle. He was revealed to have questionable campaign finance activities in my investigation of the finances of Nicolee Ambrose.
I also came across Gary Mangum, who was unmasked in an investigation I conducted into the water handouts in Baltimore City. Mangum is a prolific Hogan supporter, and donor.
Mangum donated a total of $20,000 into the Republican State Central Committee.
We must ask the question, if the State Central Committee is actively raising money, but not giving it to the nominees who have won their primaries, where is the money going?
I was unable to discover a single donation from the Republican State Central Committee of Maryland to any candidate in this cycle.
Is the money being stored away for another Election cycle?
Despite the urgency of our people, the truth of our struggle, and the desperate times we are currently reside in, the MDGOP is of no assistance.
The Party is even violating their own laws by failing to support their nominees.
Article 2, Section 2 clearly outlines that the principle purpose of the Republican Party is to support the nominees. They are obviously not supporting their nominees.
Perhaps we should not forget that these were the same individuals who allowed for tyrannical regime of Lockdown Larry Hogan to prosper. They said nothing.
They allowed for your State to be destroyed. Now, they continue to raise money despite having no interest in giving it to their own nominees.
Is the money being saved for a possible Hogan 2024 run for President? Truth will determine the results, and facts never lie.
